Kesla is mainly known as a manufacturer of forest cranes, but few people are aware that those can be used multifunctionally, i.e. either in industry, as a forest crane or for loading goods. Industrial hoists are primarily fixed, which are intended for removing unsuitable parts in normal use, for example in the sawmill industry. Foreign bodies can be removed with the crane, misaligned logs can be straightened and unsuitable ones can be taken out.
Adaptation of industrial cranes to other areas
As usual, all Kesla cranes are adapted to the needs of each customer. In the case of industrial cranes, its lifting capacity and range are extremely important. Thus, it is possible to choose a crane that is right for you and adapt it according to your needs in order to expand the product's possibilities of use.
From the selection of Kesla cranes, models 2112, 2115 and 2117 are the most popular in industrial use. This is due to their lifting capacity and scale required in the industry. The maximum reach of the KESLA 2117 model is as much as 12.5 meters.
The hoists are installed in a fissured configuration. Kesla can also provide a mounting base that can be attached to the foundation. The choice of equipment for the cranes largely depends on whether the crane is classified as a timber or loader crane, which in turn depends on whether people can be present in the danger zone surrounding the crane or not. The lift is driven by a hydraulic power source, which can also be purchased separately or delivered as a set.
Cranes can be operated from multiple locations, and many saw lines are controlled from a control room, which ensures good visibility of the crane and that weather conditions do not affect operations. The lift can be controlled electronically through KESLA proC with two mini control levers, which allows, for example, simultaneous camera monitoring.
Another alternative for control is radio control, where the control unit is usually placed close to the truck, but the specific location can be freely chosen. The range of the radio controller is 90 meters, which can be a limiting factor in some environments. In addition to radio control, a side control device can be installed on the crane, which acts as an auxiliary control station and six levers are used for control.
